PUERTO RICO MOURNS LOSS

A female Puerto Rican soldier was killed April 4, 2004 in Baghdad, Iraq, when the convoy she was riding in came under attack.
Spc. Selian A.Diaz,19, joined the Army Nov.14,2001 and was assigned to Fort Hood, Texas in 2002.
Diaz, was born in Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico where her parents were stationed in the Army.
Her records with the Army show her permanent address as Caguas, Puerto Rico, where her parents and other relatives still live.
Diaz, was buried in Puerto Rico's National Cemetery April 18, 2004 where she was posthumously awarded a Bronze Star and Purple Heart at a service kept private at her family's request.
Diaz's husband is also an enlisted soldier, but his name along with the names of her parents will not be released.
