Army Spc. Selian A.Diaz,19, of Caguas, Puerto Rico was killed April 4,2004 when the convoy she was riding in came under attack near Baghdad, Iraq.
Diaz, joined the Army Nov.14,2001 and was assigned to the 21st Combat Support Hospital, based at Fort Hood, Texas in June of 2002.
Diaz, was laid to rest in Puerto Rico's National Cemetery where her parents retired soldiers, and other relatives reside. She received full Military honors and was posthumously awarded a Bronze Star for bravery and a Purple heart.
Diaz's records with the Army show that she was born in Fort Buchanan, but Caguas, Puerto Rico was listed as her permanent address.
Diaz, was closely linked with the Military being that both her parents were in the service at the time of her birth and she was married to an enlisted soldier.
